Funding Provided By

North Dakota Experimental Program to Stimulate
Competitive Research (EPSCoR)
ND EPSCoRThe Archaeology Technologies Laboratory (ATL) was created with a grant awarded through North Dakota Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), along with matching funds from both the NDSU College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences and the NDSU Department of Sociology and Anthropology.

NDSU Technology Fee Advisory Committee
In October of 2001, the Archaeology Technologies Laboratory received funding from the NDSU student Technology Fee. The funds were awarded through NDSU Technology Fee Advisory Committee. This funding is only available to NDSU departments and staff.

Funding Collaborations

The ATL does some proof-of-concept projects, and maintains the expertise necessary to develop collaborative relationships in a number of different areas. We are happy to provide advice to those seeking to incorporate technology applications into their anthropology research.

The ATL has received funding from NSF to develop a proof-of-concept project with archaeologists in India. The project is designed to develop data sharing and 3D modeling research capabilities in the field of Indian ceramics. Find out more about this award.

Funding Priorities
The ATL seeks to maintain its position as a leading edge research facility by acquiring new technology as it becomes available, and replacing older technology as it becomes obsolete. The ATL also trains student employees, and ensures that they acquire the skills necessary to compete in technologically advanced graduate school programs and commercial workplaces.
