The Archaeology Technologies Laboratory (ATL) was created with a grant awarded through the North Dakota Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), along with matching funds from both the NDSU College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences and the NDSU Department of Sociology/Anthropology.

RawKee - an X3D File Format Exporter
CAA Main SiteThe ATL has recently released an alpha version of the RawKee X3D plug-in for Maya Complete and Maya Unlimited versions 4.5 thru 6.0. RawKee allows Maya users to export to the X3D file format. In addition, it allows the user to setup scripting and routing mechanisms from within Maya using the RawKee's X3D Interaction Editor.

CAA 2006 - Fargo, ND
CAA Main SiteWe are proud to announce that the annual international Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA) conference will be hosted by the NDSU Archaeology Technologies Laboratory (ATL) in Fargo, ND during the month of April, 2006. This will mark the first time that the CAA conference will be held in North America. More information about this conference can be found at the CAA2006 Conference Website.

Junior - An Onyx 300 InfiniteReality3TM System

The NDSU Archaeology Technologies Laboratory has received funding through the "Computer and Information Science & Engineering" (CISE) directorate of the National Science Foundation and the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) in order to purchase advanced visualization equipment dedicated to archaeology-anthropology research and education. The equipment will be purchased in two phases.
